Samsung Biologics ký thoả thuận sản xuất dược phẩm điều trị COVID-19

Theo một thông tin mới nhất, Samsung Biologics sẽ bắt đầu sản xuất dược phẩm điều trị COVID-19 sớm nhất là từ tháng 10/2020 này.

Samsung Biologics – Một công ty trực thuộc Tập đoàn Samsung có trụ sở tại Hàn Quốc vừa chính thức công bố rằng đã ký một thoả thuận trị giá 362 triệu USD với Công ty dược phẩm sinh học Vir Biotechnology (Hoa Kỳ) để sản xuất dược phẩm có khả năng tạo ra kháng thể hiệu quả để điều trị cho các bệnh nhân nhiễm virus chủng mới SARS-CoV-2, hay còn được biết với tên gọi dịch COVID-19.

Samsung Biologics sẽ bắt đầu sản xuất loại dược phẩm này sớm nhất là vào tháng 10/2020 với lần thử nghiệm kỹ thuật đầu tiên và các lô dược phẩm đề chống lại virus, điều trị COVID-19 chính thức được thương mại hoá dự kiến được sản xuất tại một nhà máy Songdo, Incheon từ năm 2021.

Công ty dược phẩm sinh học Vir Biotechnology, có trụ sở tại San Francisco (Mỹ) là đơn vị chuyên phát triển các loại thuốc điều trị bệnh truyền nhiễm. Hiện nay, công ty này đang phát triển một kháng thể nhân bản duy nhất để điều trị dịch COVID-19 bằng cách phân tách các kháng thể từ những người được chữa khỏi hoàn toàn bệnh SARS, một dạng của chuẩn virus Corona. Hiện tại, US FDA (Cục quản lý thực phẩm và dược phẩm Hoa Kỳ) cũng đang xem xét để cấp chỉ định nhanh cho kháng thể như một liệu pháp khả thi để chữa trị cho bệnh nhân mắc phải COVID-19.

CEO Samsung Biologics là Kim Tae-han nhận định, sự hợp tác của công ty Hàn Quốc với Vir Biotechnology là một tín hiệu rất đáng ghi nhận, mang lại hy vọng rất sáng cho nhiều bệnh nhân đang mắc COVID-19 hiện nay trên toàn cầu.

Tính đến 22 giờ 20 phút ngày 10/04/2020, số trường hợp được xác nhận mắc dịch COVID-19 toàn cầu đã hơn 1,6 triệu người với hơn 96.000 ca tử vong. Trong khi đó, tại Việt Nam số trường hợp mắc đã lên đến 257 ca, trong đó đã 135 ca đã khỏi bệnh ( với 16 bệnh nhân được công bố khỏi bệnh trong ngày 10/04/2020).
